About the SEC Professionals Group

How are the meetings organized?

Meetings are held quarterly to discuss a range of issues, including XBRL, IFRS, communications from the SEC, performance of service providers, and specific accounting and reporting issues suggested by the members. All conversations are off-the-record and remain confidential among group members.

Member companies frequently send two or more people to the meetings, held in person or via live webcast. Unless invited to participate by the SEC Professionals Group, academics, auditors, consultants, and vendors are not allowed to participate in the meetings. Meetings last between 60 - 90 minutes. National sponsor, Workiva, provides CPE for members.

May I participate remotely?

Yes. We encourage you to participate in person when possible, but we also provide a live webcast and live polling for member interaction.

What is the cost?

There is no cost to join the group, participate in our meetings, or receive CPE.

What is the purpose of the group?

The SEC Professionals Group is a community of professionals who actively prepare and file financial reports with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The purpose of the group is to foster communication between members on matters of common professional interest. We are the exclusive community providing an opportunity for members to share best practices and learn from each other.
