Chapter Notes

Welcome to the Nashville chapter of the SEC Professionals Group!

We will not be meeting to play the broadcast of the Q1 SEC Professionals Group national meeting on Tuesday, March 26th at 11:15 am CST. There were not enough participants to justify holding this meeting in person. If you wish to watch the meeting online, you can do so on the SEC Professionals Pro Group website. To find the webcast, login to, hover over the Events tab at the top and click upcoming.  There will be an option to "Watch Webcast." The stream will last an hour, providing members with an opportunity for 1 CPE credit.

This quarter's meeting will allow us to hear a panel discussion on essential career lessons from those who have achieved the pinnacle of success in our profession: the current and past chairs of the FASB, and former Board Member of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board.

They will share their advice with you—the next generation of leaders. After hearing their experience and perspectives, you will be able to:

  • List the skills you should master as you advance in your career
  • Explain how your focus should evolve as you move from manager to director to VP
  • Recognize how changes in accounting and auditing standards fit into the big picture
  • Recall how technology trends and investor preferences may affect your day-to-day responsibilities
  • Russ Golden, Chairman, Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB)
  • Leslie Seidman, former Chair, Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB)
  • Jeanette Franzel, former Board Member, Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB)

Moderated by Bob Herz, former Chairman, Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB)
