Chapter Notes

Welcome to the Nashville chapter of the SEC Professionals Group!

We will be meeting to play the broadcast of the Q4 SEC Professionals Group national meeting on Wednesday, November 14th at 11:00 am CST.  The meeting will be held at Vaco (address below) and will last an hour, providing members with an opportunity for 1 CPE credit. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early to get settled and catch up with your colleagues.  We encourage you to invite others on your reporting team to become members, to join us for this program, and to attend in person if possible.

5410 Maryland Way, Suite 460, Brentwood, TN 37027

This quarter's meeting will allow us to hear a panel discussion on the use of shared service centers and their effectiveness.  Many organizations are using a shared service center or “center of excellence” to effectively use limited resources and control costs. Explore the pros and cons of using shared service centers, hear success stories, challenges, implications, and get answers to some of the most common questions surrounding shared services.

After the meeting, attendees will be able to:

  • Explain how shared service organizations are structured
  • Recognize how efficiencies are gained utilizing shared services
  • Calculate some of the set-up costs
  • Outline how technology can support and or supplement a service delivery approach

Alex Buckthorp, Finance Director, Procter and Gamble
Angela Stephens, Senior Vice President, Controller, Dr Pepper Snapple Group
David Fabricant, Senior Vice President, Controllership, American Express Company
Ron Kapusta, Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer, Johnson & Johnson
